Alex Garcia vs. Ben Wall
Round 1
Wall tries to close the distance quickly and walks into a right hand from Garcia, who lands an uppercut and stuffs a shot shortly afterward. Another uppercut tears through Wall’s guard, then a right hook. Wall is covering up as he moves backward, and Garcia steps in to drop him with a huge uppercut that puts the local fighter down for the count. Garcia lands a short left hand to his fallen opponent, but referee Cameron Quinn pulls Garcia away before he can do any further damage.
The Official Result
Alex Garcia def. Ben Wall via KO (Punches) R1 0:43
Krzysztof Jotko vs. Bruno Santos
Round 1
The southpaw Jotko goes to the perimeter immediately, cutting angles as the Brazilian sizes him up from a few feet away. Not much offense of note through the first 90 seconds, though Jotko sneaks a few jabs through Santos’ guard. Santos shoots a single-leg against the fence, nearly brings Jotko down but settles for holding the Polish fighter on the cage. Santos looks for an outside trip and winds up shoved to his back by Jotko, who can’t hold top position for long as Santos sweeps and stands. Santos hits the throw on his next attempt, but now Jotko drives forward on a shot and pushes Santos against the cage. The Brisbane crowd boos with 90 seconds left in the round, and referee John Sharp calls for action. Santos throws Jotko down, then hits him with a short right hook as he scrambles up. Santos lands a body shot and holds Jotko on the fence until 25 seconds left in the round, when Sharp splits them up. Santos closes the round pressing Jotko against the fence again.

Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Santos

Round 2
The middleweights spend another 90 seconds feeling out one another, to the displeasure of the crowd and referee Sharp. A couple jabs score for Jotko, so Santos goes for another single-leg on the cage, working some short body shots and knees. Jotko turns it around and separates after landing a couple knees of his own. Jotko tries to go back to jabbing, but now Santos is evading the punches a little better. Santos shoots another single with 90 seconds left, can’t get the takedown and eats some short left hands from Jotko as he works. Santos shoots a knee up the middle and changes levels, still can’t finish the takedown, and now Jotko wants the takedown. The Polish fighter can’t finish the takedown either, so he holds Santos on the fence and does some light dirty boxing. With 15 seconds left, Jotko drops Santos with a cracking left hook counter, then adds on a few more as Santos gets to his feet just before the horn.
Sherdog Scores
Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Jotko
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Jotko
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Jotko

Round 3
Jotko goes back to his strategy from the first round, moving around the outside and countering Santos, and now his left hands are landing a little cleaner. Santos gets in on a double-leg, lifts Jotko and slams him to the canvas about 90 seconds into the final round. The Brazilian sets up in Jotko’s closed guard, where Jotko keeps him wrapped up. Santos eventually finds space to pass to side control, then jumps on Jotko’s back as he rolls over. Jotko just twists around and reverses the precarious position, taking top position with 1:45 on the clock and getting to work with punches and elbows. More ground-and-pound scores for Jotko, so Santos grabs an arm-triangle choke from guard, then squeezes tight to try and finish. Jotko stays calm and escapes with a few seconds left, finishing the fight with one last elbow to Santos’ head.
Sherdog Scores
Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Santos (29-29 Draw)

Justin Scoggins vs. Richie Vaculik
Round 1
Scoggins eats a quick right hook, counters with a whip-fast kick to the body of Vaculik. About 30 seconds in, Scoggins gets in on a single-leg and puts Vaculik on the ground near the fence. Vaculik tries to shrimp underneath but gets shoved to the base of the fence and held down. Vaculik scrambles up, tries to spin away and extract his leg, but Scoggins catches him turning and clubs him with a right hand. Vaculik hits the ground and Scoggins follows, but the Australian regains his wits before Scoggins can capitalize on the knockdown. Scoggins scores with a couple hard elbows on the ground before Vaculik scrambles back to his feet, where Scoggins holds him on the cage. More sharp elbows score for Scoggins before he takes down Vaculik again with just under two minutes to go in the opening round. Scoggins moves to full mount with 70 seconds on the clock and flattens Vaculik, who tries to roll over. Vaculik bucks Scoggins out of mount, then surrenders his back anyway. Scoggins wastes no time, posturing up and blasting Vaculik with thunderous right hands which force referee Steve Perceval into action. Vaculik jumps up to protest the stoppage, and the local crowd doesn’t like it either, but that’s all she wrote.
The Official Result
Justin Scoggins def. Richie Vaculik via TKO (Punches) R1 4:43
Caio Magalhaes vs. Nick Ring
Round 1
Ring backs up as Magalhaes tries to take his head off early with big punches. The middleweights exchange kicks, with Ring having his high kick blocked before Magalhaes thuds one to the Canadian’s body. Ring extends his arm and pokes Magalhaes in the left eye, prompting referee Cameron Quinn to pause the action. When they resume, Magalhaes comes forward, bombing with wide punches before Ring clinches him against the fence. Magalhaes exits the clinch with a stiff knee to the body, then a leg kick. Magalhaes shoots a long, high double-leg and gets sprawled on, so he shoves Ring against the cage with over-unders. Ring turns it around and gets clubbed with a right hook, but he gives Magalhaes some hard knees to the body in return. Magalhaes keeps throwing the right hand in the clinch, can’t find the mark and gets decked by an elbow from Ring. Magalhaes grabs the cage to prevent a takedown, but Ring gets him to the canvas anyway with about 90 seconds left in the round. Ring looks to pass from half-guard to a crucifix position, has to defend a heel hook and keeps hold of Magalhaes as the Brazilian scrambles up. Magalhaes backs up Ring with an overhand right-left hook combo, but it’s Ring hitting another takedown in the middle of the cage. Magalhaes tries a guillotine, can’t hold on but uses it to get back to his feet before the round ends.

Round 2
Magalhaes slips on a kick and stands, but he wheels around and clips Ring with a nice right hand as the Canadian moves in to clinch. Magalhaes shoots in the center of the cage, gets sprawled on, then tries to pull guard with a guillotine as Ring completes a takedown of his own. Ring quickly passes to side control and roughs up Magalhaes with short elbows from the crucifix before the Brazilian sweeps and scoots the action toward the fence. Ring stifles Magalhaes’ attempts to advance past guard, but Magalhaes is able to land some thumping punches to Ring’s body. With 30 seconds to go, Ring throws up his legs, possibly angling for an armbar or triangle, but Magalhaes snuffs it out to finish the round on top.
Sherdog Scores
Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Magalhaes
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Magalhaes
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Ring

Round 3
Magalhaes, despite looking exhausted, lands a couple hard hooks about 90 seconds into the final round, then rushes in to take top position as Ring sort of falls to guard. Referee Quinn doesn’t give Magalhaes long on top, maybe 40 seconds before standing the middleweights back up. Ring shoots a single-leg and gets caught in a front headlock in the center of the cage. Magalhaes picks up Ring and knees his body, and Ring goes back to trying to complete the single. Ref Quinn stands them up from the position with about one minute to go, and Ring quickly shoots again. Magalhaes is waiting, sprawling on the shot and dropping right hands on Ring’s body. Ring nearly flips Magalhaes over the top, can’t finish and winds up with Magalhaes punching his face at the end of the fight.

Nam Phan vs. Takeya Mizugaki
Round 1
Mizugaki takes the outside, sticking long jabs in Phan’s face while Phan throws jabs of his own and hooks to the body. Mizugaki starts scoring with left hands down the center, then left hooks, but even as he scores, Phan is countering with body blows. After about 90 seconds of trading on the feet, Mizugaki goes for a takedown and puts Phan on his seat with a double-leg on the fence. Phan posts and stands, but he leaves his face unprotected and eats three or four nasty right hands from Mizugaki. Phan is cut on the bridge of his nose as he tries to find his range, still taking jabs on the face from Mizugaki. Another takedown lands for the Japanese fighter, and he repeats the sequence by hitting Phan with a pair of rights as Phan gets to his feet. A right hook from Mizugaki sends Phan backward, and Mizugaki follows up with a sizzling left hook to the body. Phan is still throwing back, but his punches don’t seem to have the steam that Mizugaki’s do. Another liver shot scores for Mizugaki, who backs off in the final 30 seconds before closing the round with a left hook to the body and right hook up top.
Sherdog Scores
Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Mizugaki
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Mizugaki
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Mizugaki

Round 2
Mizugaki gets in Phan’s face with a combo which pulls up short, so he fakes a level change and comes back up top to hit Phan with another left. Phan comes off the cage but stays in the pocket, leaving his chin open to Mizugaki’s left hook. The punch sends Phan staggering, and Mizugaki tries to polish him off with more punches on the other side of the cage, but Phan somehow stays on his feet. Phan scores with a couple left hooks to the body of Mizugaki, who seems to be taking a short breather after expending a lot of energy trying to finish. Mizugaki soon gets back to work, sending right hands over the top and mixing in elbows before having a shot stuffed by Phan. The bantamweights tie up and Mizugaki spins to the back with a rear waistlock, so Phan stymies his progress by threatening with a kimura. Mizugaki comes to the front again, hits a takedown but can’t hold Phan on the ground. Phan gives Mizugaki a taste of his own medicine with a clean left hook on the chin. Mizugaki just eats it and keeps throwing, though, closing out the round with a straight right on Phan’s chin.
Sherdog Scores
Jordan Breen scores the round 10-8 Mizugaki
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Mizugaki
Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Mizugaki

Round 3
Both bantamweights come out firing, with Phan getting the better of the early exchanges in the final round. Mizugaki is still scoring, though, digging hooks to Phan’s body before shooting a long double-leg. Phan stuffs the shot and tries another kimura, but Mizugaki quickly pulls his arm loose. Phan counters a missed Mizugaki combo with a crisp left hook, then sprawls on a shot from the Japanese fighter. Three minutes left in the fight, and suddenly Phan seems to be the fresher fighter, unloading with combinations as Mizugaki’s pace slows. Mizugaki stings Phan with a hook, then an uppercut, but Phan comes back with a left hook up top. Mizugaki gives him a left hook in return, and both fighters stick jabs. With one minute left, Phan stuffs a shot from Mizugaki and swipes a left hand across the Japanese fighter’s face. They throw simultaneous left hands and Mizugaki’s lands cleaner, sending Phan tilting to the side momentarily. It’s Mizugaki coming forward when the final horn sounds, and both men raise their hands as this one will go to the judges’ scorecards.

Julie Kedzie vs. Bethe Correia
Round 1
Kedzie keeps the Brazilian at bay early with snappy punches and high kicks. Correia waits a minute before moving in and connecting with a lead left hook, and Kedzie goes back to front-kicking Correia away. Correia lands a couple slapping leg kicks outside before eating a hook from Kedzie in the pocket. Midway through the round, Correia comes to clinch on the fence but can’t keep Kedzie there, though „Fireball” comes away sporting some redness around her nose. Correia lands a body shot, a left hook up top and then another hook. Kedzie’s on her back foot now, trying to set up a spinning kick but can’t find her mark. Correia ties up again, working foot stomps as she tries to change levels. Kedzie keeps her wrapped up, though, and counters with hard knees to the body before breaking out. Correia slips on a kick but Kedzie can’t capitalize, and it’s Correia driving forward to complete a double-leg as time expires.

Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Kedzie

Round 2
Kedzie begins round two same as round one, snapping off kicks to keep Correia out of the pocket, but the Brazilian manages to dip inside and slug Kedzie with a pair of hard left hooks. Kedzie is showing good head movement, cutting angles around the outside and stringing together combinations, though Correia’s less frequent punches are clearly the heavier. Kedzie catches Correia with a teep kick to the midsection, and Correia pops back up to bully Kedzie against the cage. Kedzie exits with an elbow which just misses, and Correia comes back for more clinching and foot stomping. Kedzie returns fire with some good knees to the gut, then a spinning kick to the body, countered by Correia with a clipping left hook. The women trade lefts away from the fence, then head back there when Correia opts to clinch again. Kedzie finishes the round with more knees up the center in the clinch.

Round 3
Both women are still throwing, though neither is landing anything very clean in the opening minute of the final frame. Kedzie works some more push kicks to the body before Correia connects with a left hook and begins opening up with combinations. Kedzie lands a body kick, but it’s caught by Correia and turned into a takedown with just under three minutes to go. Correia scoots Kedzie toward the fence, allowing Kedzie to sit up. Kedzie tries to post and stand, but Correia hops on her back. Kedzie just turns around and stands up to exit the dangerous position, and the bantamweights are back to striking with 90 seconds left. Referee Steve Perceval calls for action, and Kedzie whips around with a spinning kick which doesn’t land clean but draws an „ooh” from the crowd. Kedzie misses with a question mark kick, takes a couple low kicks from Correia. Now it’s Correia trying for a takedown and getting stood up. The Brazilian sneaks a left hook around Kedzie’s guard. Kedzie finishes the fight with a kick to the body, answered by a left hook from Correia before the horn.

Dylan Andrews vs. Clint Hester
Round 1
Hester catches Andrews coming in with a clean right hook, backs away and comes forward again with a hard hook to the gut. Hester clips with another right hand over the top, but Andrews times the next combination and wraps up Hester for a quick takedown. Andrews sits up in Hester’s half-guard, keeping the boxer on his back even as Hester tries to twist free. Andrews is looking for the crucifix, trying to pin down Hester’s left arm, but can’t secure the position. Hester gets an underhook, then hits the switch on Andrews’ leg to take top position with 90 seconds left. Andrews uses the same trick to get back to his feet and trip Hester back to the ground, but Hester scrambles up and pushes Andrews against the fence. Andrews ducks underneath to slam Hester to the ground and finish the frame in side control.

He bull-rushes Andrews and plows the Australian to the ground near the base of the fence, sitting up in half-guard to drop short elbow strikes on Andrews’ face. Left hands score for Hester now, a couple landing with Andrews’ head laying flush to the mat. More elbows and forearms come from Hester on top as Andrews wraps his arms around the American and tries to negate the space. Andrews finally gets to his feet with 80 seconds left in the round, though his face is bloodied and he eats more heavy shots from Hester as he struggles up. Andrews, who’s bleeding from the outside of his left eyebrow, is looking for a homerun shot, loading up on his right hand but can’t find his mark as the round runs out.

Pat Barry vs. Soa Palelei
Round 1
Palelei shoots for an instant takedown in the center of the cage, pushing Barry to the fence, but „HD” pushes off and circles out. Barry goes to the southpaw stance and throws a high kick which misses. He catches Palelei coming in with a knee, but Palelei finishes the takedown anyway. Barry tries for a kimura underneath as Palelei tries to advance past half-guard. Palelei frees his arm and moves to full mount, then sits up and unloads with a heavy barrage of punches. With his left arm trapped beneath Palelei’s leg, Barry is unable to defend himself as Palelei turns out his lights with brutal shots, sending referee Steve Perceval into action.
The Official Result
Soa Palelei def. Pat Barry via KO (Punches) R1 2:09
Ryan Bader vs. Anthony Perosh
Round 1
Bader drops Perosh with a left hook which lands to the back of the Australian’s head, but Perosh is quickly back on his feet to strike back with a right hook. Bader grabs the collar tie and drops Perosh again, this time with clean uppercuts. Again, Perosh works his way back to his feet. Bader slugs him with an uppercut on the fence and Perosh circles out to land a combo. Bader misses with a right hand and eats a counter right on the chin from Perosh, who is already showing damage on the right side of his face 90 seconds into the bout. Perosh slips as he tries to clinch up with Bader, who turns around and socks Perosh with short right hands, then elbows as the wrestler sets up in Perosh’s open guard. Perosh tries to roll over but is stifled by Bader, who keeps throwing right hands to the head of „The Hippo.” Perosh gets back up with 1:40 on the clock, and gets a warning from ref John Sharp for grabbing the fence. The 205ers separate, and Bader comes forward to snap back Perosh’s head with a jab. Bader ducks a combo from Perosh and spins to take his back, then drag him to the ground. Perosh puts his back to the mat and puts Bader in his guard. Bader decks him with an elbow that opens up another cut, this one along Perosh’s hairline. Bader finishes the round on top, stapling Perosh’s head on the mat with elbows and forearms.

Perosh tries to wrap up from the bottom, but every time he gets hold, Bader switches positions to land punches or elbows from another angle. Bader stands over Perosh, momentarily allowing the Aussie to sock him with some back-handed rights, but it’s not long before Bader comes crashing back to the ground, flattening Perosh and dropping elbows. Perosh’s face is a mess, the cut under his right eye worsening as Bader tacks on more elbows and forearms, but he defends well enough to hear the horn.

Round 3
Perosh charges forward with a combination, but it’s Bader who lands a left hook behind Perosh’s ear before once more shoving the elder fighter to the ground. Bader sits up in side control to drill Perosh’s temple with elbows, making sure to keep the Australian’s legs trapped, preventing a stand-up. Perosh puts him back in guard, trying to use feet on Bader’s hips to get some separation, but Bader is just smothering him on top. Bader lands a short left hand, causing Perosh to drag his face across the mat as he turns away, leaving a streak of red blood in the process. Heavy left hands from Bader now, forcing Perosh to get up or risk a stoppage. As soon as Perosh is back on his feet, Bader drags him back down. With 35 seconds left, Bader works to full mount, but Perosh quickly escapes and puts „Darth” back in guard. Te Huna throws an uppercut and gets blasted with a blistering left hook on the chin. Te Huna is out cold before he hits the canvas, and Rua mercifully misses with the follow-up right hand as referee John Sharp jumps in to call an end to the bout.

Mark Hunt vs. Antonio Silva
Round 1
Steve Perceval is the referee for tonight’s heavyweight main event. Silva strikes first with a light push kick to Hunt’s legs, keeping the heavy-handed „Super Samoan” at bay. Thirty tense seconds later, Silva lands another leg kick, then Hunt comes rushing in with right hands which miss, but get „Bigfoot” to slip to the mat. Silva pops up and, a moment later, walks into a striking exchange with Hunt. The Brazilian gets the better of the exchange with a clipping right hand that sends Hunt to the mat, but Hunt is quickly back on his feet, dodging a knee from the larger man on his way up. Hunt throws a combination which bounces off Silva’s gloves, then an outside leg kick which lands clean. Silva grazes with a kick to Hunt’s body, follows with a good right straight to the temple. Hunt tries to get inside again, but Silva defends well and comes back to clinch against the fence. Finally, midway through the round, Hunt splits Silva’s guard with a straight right, and the Brazilian stumbles backward. Silva resets and is waiting with a counter right the next time Hunt throws. A kick to the ribs connects for Hunt, answered by a couple off-angle front kicks from Bigfoot. Hunt is just standing with his hands by his sides, looking for a big shot as Silva circles with his back to the fence. Both men land right hands before Hunt moves in to clinch again, then separates with a right. Silva hits Hunt’s damaged leg with another kick, and Hunt steps forward to drop the Brazilian with a big straight right. Silva pushes him away and sends a couple right hands down the pipe before shooting a sloppy shot which Hunt shuts down and reverses. Another takedown lands for Hunt, and this time Silva throws up his legs for an armbar attempt. Hunt snuffs this out and sits up in Silva’s guard to pop the Brazilian with a couple stiff right hands before Silva scrambles up. Hunt looks tired, standing stock still and timing Silva with a big overhand right, then a cracking elbow. Silva eats it and keeps throwing return fire, pulling down Hunt’s head and driving a knee up the center. Silva closes in on Hunt, pushing him against the cage, and both heavyweights are landing hard shots in close quarters. Silva gets half a takedown, assisted by Hunt, who sort of slumps to the ground with about 90 seconds left in the round. Hunt lands hammer-fists from his back while Silva tries to pin his head to the mat. Hunt nearly hits a sweep from underneath, but Silva snuffs it out and steps into full mount. Hunt’s bleached-blonde hair is now dyed red with his own blood as he throws power punches at the Brazilian’s head. Silva’s face isn’t looking much better, spraying blood from his nose and forehead as Hunt steps in to drill him with a standing elbow. Silva is looking exhausted now, his hands by his waist, just barely punching back as Hunt continues to rock him with right hands and elbows. Hunt pushes him against the fence and lands a couple more shots before ref Perceval calls a timeout. Perceval wants the physician to look at Silva, and the bloody Bigfoot is quickly cleared to resume. Half a round to go, and Hunt gets back to work, trying to pick apart Silva. Silva just won’t stop coming forward, and now he’s got Hunt trapped against the cage, racking up punches. Hunt counters with a big left hook; they move off the fence and it’s Hunt with an elbow, then Silva with a knee up the middle. Silva holds Hunt on the cage as the fight enters its final minute. Silva grabs the Thai plum but doesn’t do anything with it, so Hunt uses it to pop Silva with short uppercuts. Silva rocks Hunt’s head with a short right hook, and the heavyweights embrace in a crimson mess as the final horn sounds.
