VALERIU MIRCEA: “AS I BECOME EFC FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION, I WILL MOVE UP AND CAPTURE THAT BELT AT LIGHTWEIGHT

One of the fastest growing MMA organizations in Europe \’EAGLES Fighting Championship\’ returns to the capital of Moldova, Chisinau with the tournament \’EAGLES FC 11\’ on February 16th. The main event of this tournament will serve featherweight title championship fight. Valeriu Mircea, Moldavian fighter living in Italy, will compete for the vacant featherweight championship belt against his compatriot Andrei Barbarosa.

HARCORD journalist Yuri Dorokhov contacted Valeriu Mircea and spoke with him about his training camp for the fight, his upcoming rival, and plans for the future. Throughout his career, Mircea performed at lightweight. The coming fight will be his first performance at featherweight division and, according to the fighter, he feels more confident than ever.

“I feel great, the weight cut goes just perfect,” – says Mircea. “What can I say about Andrei Barbarosa? Andrei is a typical athlete, I don’t see anything special in him. In General, for me, there is no difference with whom to fight. I don’t know how he’s doing, but I don’t have any weaknesses. I am equally good – both standup fighting and ground game skills,”

Valeriu Mircea, 25 years old, already has a solid experience in MMA. Earlier he performed in such large organizations as M-1 Global and Bellator. Based on the experience of performances in these promotions, Mircea can say for sure that EAGLES FC is on the same high-level.

“EAGLES FC is a very serious and very promising organization with great potential. I like to perform here. In my opinion, now this is the best MMA promotion in Europe. At the pace that EAGLES FC is developing, this promotion will not yield to the largest well-known organizations in the near future,”

Mircea does not hide his ambitious plans. In the current trend of super-fights between champions from different weight categories, the fighter already intends to take the EAGLES FC lightweight championship title from the Belarusian fighter Ivan Zhvirblia, who will also compete in the EAGLES FC 11 tournament to defend his title against Davide Gregorio La Torre.

“Here’s what I want to say: as soon as I become a featherweight champion, I will move to 155 lbs and take the belt from Zhvirblia and deep down this Belarusian kid knows about it,”

Mircea also addressed his fans and supporters, advising them to follow his career:

“To all fans of MMA I advise to follow me as I am going to show cool fights and to put on a real show!”

Today, the professional MMA record of Valeriu Mircea includes 21 victories, five, defeats, and one draw. Now he leads a series of five victories in a row, two of which he scored inside the cage of ‘EAGLES FC’.
