After a lengthy absence, King of Kings returned to the Mediterranean island of Cyprus for their first event of the 2017 season. The card was mainly comprised of local Cypriot fighters matched up against top foreign talent. A few last minute replacements were made as Ahmad Alkadi replaced Hassan Alzaino in the opening bout and Kostas Kleanthous replaced Christakis Alexandrou in a kickboxing rules fight. Another card change, which many fans were pleased about, was the addition of another fight to the Hero’s Series card which saw Darius Minkevicius taking on Stefan Almazov in an MMA rules contest.
